Across the country, police officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, academy leaders, sheriffs, and city managers stand at the intersection of crisis and community trust every single day. They are responsible for protecting the most vulnerable, often without the tools, training, or support systems to process what that exposure does to a person over time.
The average law enforcement officer is exposed to 400-600+ traumatic events over the course of a career.
There is no unified national standard for integrating mental health into public safety leadership and operational structure. Mental health is treated as reactive rather than preventative. Leadership development is separated from emotional intelligence. Organizational health is rarely measured with clarity. The result is fragmented systems, burned-out leaders, frontline fatigue, and communities that suffer the consequences.

Command Blueprint was founded by two leaders whose experience represents both sides of the work: clinical expertise and frontline command. Together, they bring over 50 years of servant-hearted leadership to a problem the system has left unaddressed for too long.
Zach Andrews
Licensed Therapist | Co-Founder
Zach is a licensed therapist and the Director of Community Mental Health for Shelby County, Alabama, actively working on the frontlines of the mental health and crisis response challenge facing public safety today. He brings clinical mental health expertise, emotional intelligence training, and deep experience working with trauma, crisis, and leadership stress. He understands how people break down under pressure and what it takes to build them back up. His work with Command Blueprint translates that clinical knowledge and real-world application into practical frameworks that leaders and frontline personnel can actually use.
Michael McBrayer
Former Chief of Highway Patrol,
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) | Co-Founder
Michael's career in law enforcement is one of the most complete in the state of Alabama. He has held every position in Highway Patrol, from Cadet and Trooper through Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and ultimately Chief, giving him ground-level credibility that no outside consultant can match. He brings 12 years of Tactical Operations experience as a SWAT Instructor, Sniper, Entry Team member, and Team Leader, and 7 years of Special Operations Leadership managing natural disasters, protests, and riot control. His specializations include Incident Command Systems, Field Force Operations, Catastrophe Response, Conflict Resolution, Effective Leadership, Event Safety, and Security Planning. Michael has lived the pressures, the decisions, and the costs of a system without a unified mental health framework, and that experience drives everything Command Blueprint builds.
